Ford set these guys up on a blind date with a professional stunt driver. She takes them for a spin in a Mustang and it's pretty funny.

If I was a girl I would totally do this to every single "pretty sure thats a lambo" dude-bro I came across. Feminists for unexpected hoonage!

I wonder if they found a guy who is secretly a stunt driver going on this 'date'. that would be a rather interesting change.

Was pretty funny but I don't get why she said 'I don't really know how to drive a stick'.

I am a girl, but haven't done this because 1. I'm taken and 2. my car is front wheel drive. It would be awesome to be able to drive like that though.

But I do notice how the dude-bros that think they want to race me or intimidate me or whatever it is that they want when they aggressively pull up beside me change their tune when they see I'm a woman. I don't really get what their deal is in the first place, yes your bmw/audi/lambo will beat my 160hp MT FWD car in almost any test of speed, way to go for the low hanging fruit there buddy. /rant

To throw them off even more off guard for the hoonage to come!

The ironic part is (i'm assuming because you're on oppo) you probably know 1000x more about their cars then they do.

It's always seemed crazy to me that "I wish my gf/wife would let me spend money on my car" is never followed with maybe let's give her a chance to get interested, maybe she'll even want to join in! Wouldn't that be great! Let's teach my daughter about cars so the next generation has better luck! What if we actually had single girls show up to car shows and track days!!

Oh yeah, for sure. I'm sure most of those guys don't know how change their own oil or rebuild a transmission, but I do. A lot of guys don't even know how to jump a car properly.

I do have to say that I've always had good experiences in "car guy" settings. Drifting events, cars and coffee, canyon drives, and internet forums have all been welcoming to me. I haven't had the experience of guys talking down to me, they generally approach me with the assumption that I know about cars (even when my boyfriend is not there). Even service guys at the dealership listened to my concerns about the transmission leak I noticed in my car and got the problem fixed. I don't doubt that other women have been made to feel unwelcome in many of these situations, but this has been my experience.

I think women sometimes need to see other women involved in something to feel comfortable. It take a lot of confidence to show up to a track day, and if you're the only woman it can be intimidating. But if you showed this video to a 12 year old girl, her take-away would be that women can be stunt drivers and maybe she'll express an interest in cars. From there she'll need someone to teach her about cars and encourage her interest to grow into a passion, just like you said. Someday I hope to be able to nurture an interest in cars in girls and women. I don't know exactly how yet, but it is important to me.

I'm sure that's more than you wanted to know about my experiences in the car ethusiast world, but your comment reminded me not to take for granted how much my passion for cars has given me and my desire to spread the word.

That actually makes me really happy to hear. I'm glad that true enthusiasts aren't actively working to scare off girls, as I'm rather fond of my own manual-driving mechanical engineering student girlfriend, and I'd rather like her to feel comfortable in my world.

I haven't had quite the same experiences as you, I guess, as I often end up counseling the ladies in my life away from bad deals and needed repairs that mechanics have talked them into. Even as a scrawny, baby-faced, 20 year old guy I get talked down to in O'Reilly's like I know nothing. I can't imagine having all the weight of the sexist stereotypes piled on top of that.

But if you're already having positive experiences like this, I'm 100% with you. If there's no one being actively counterproductive and hostile, all a girl with the right inclinations should need is a gentle nudge in the right direction. V8's sell themselves.
